Summer fete

Summer fete

Throughout the week we have had lots going on at nursery school. Every day by the reception area we had a stall selling sweets, clothes, food and books, and every day we had different food for sale.

On Monday our theme was Italian food. We had bowls of pasta and pizzas for sale at just £1 each, you could choose from a range of toppings including mushrooms, peppers, tomato, onion, sweet corn and cheese. Lots of staff and parents brought some and said how delicious they were.

On Tuesday children brought in cakes from home which were then put on sale by the reception area. Today we had to make more pizzas due to parents putting their orders in for them!

On Wednesday our theme was ‘Asian food’ Mrs Kaur made lentil curry and chick pea curry along with samosa’s and rice. This was then put on sale to parents at lunch time and at the end of the school day. Most staff also purchased some for lunch and some even took some home for their families to try too!

The beginning of the week children and full time children were also given the opportunity to have their face painted today by the very talented Miss Richardson! By lunchtime we had lots of lions, tigers, bunnies, butterflies and ninja turtles walking around nursery.

Today one of our pupils brought in some flap jacks to sell for the summer fete. She went along with a friend and Mrs Villers to sell them to the staff in the Children’s Centre and office. They looked so good that there wasn’t any left to sell by reception at the end of the day!

On Friday, back due to popular demand it was an Italian theme again. Lots of staff and children ordered pizzas again and Mrs Kaur was busy making her dough again and making lots of delicious pizzas for us all.

Today it was the end of the week children’s turn to have their face painted, Again there was lots of butterflies walking around nursery and lots of children opted to have a picture painted on  their arm as well as their faces.
